Well this explains why it took over an 1/2 and hour to go from calvert street to president street. Why they didn’t have people directing traffic I don’t know. The traffic people always seem to out in the day when it doesn’t make a bit of difference, but when there is a real need is there any sign of them?

Oops looks like a foo barred a 60 gig hard disk. The Warranty expires End of Feb 2004. Cool

I have 8 computers around me. 2 are powered off. Yikes I think I am a geek. Maybe I should rename my journal irnbru_geek. 🙂

Yikes I am installing suse 9 on the mini-itx that failed to become the media server. It is downloading a patch of 198 meg. Yikes that is one huge patch. I think this box will be come my test box.
While scanning rolls of film today I looked at speak easy dsl. They have an interesting product. Net share. You get to pimp out your DSL line. I am not sure what is in place to stop people from using your service with out paying. It could be interesting to get a dsl line then pimp it out to a couple neighbors.

Smoking ban in pubs in Scotland?
This is interesting. In theory I am in favor of this. I don’t like smoke in bars but i makes me wonder how long it will be before drinking alcohol is considered socially un acceptable.

What did I do today. I had a lazy day. I read some more of the firm. I stole the book from my parents last time I was home (yeah that was a year ago). geek stuff

I think I need to tell me neighbors to turn down the sound on their new X Box? or Surround system. I can hear what I think is a car engine through the walls. Thats not saying much since I don’t think there is anything between the paster in these apartments. I will wait to see if I hear anything upstairs.

Normally I would be at home for Christmas. This year I couldn’t do it. So I waited for presents to arrive via the mail. I think I got everything except my sisters presents. My parents are missing most of there presents thanks to amazon.co.uk, well the UK post office might be more accurate. I mean the country is tiny compared to the US. So why does it take so long for a parcel to get to Scotland. They were posted on the 19th.
So I opened my presents on my own. One of my friends came over to baltimore and I made tomato soup (i swear there is no way it can look like the picture in the book). Then mushroom bolaneas. Then upside down pudding for dinner and watched monsters inc. Fun afternoon but J had to leave to go walk an other friends dogs in DC.
