Ikea is everywhere!!!!

I know that my house is full of it, but when someone opens a cupboard door in a Film and you see a set of plates for under a second that you think that looks like the same ones you have from Ikea. Then the next scene is the lead actress drinking from a coffee cup that I know is from Ikea because I own a few just like that except in blue. Ikea is everywhere!!!!!! now the real confession I am watching “Me Myself and I”, I blame the Tivo.

I slept in late, woke up, went back to sleep again, woke up again, finished my book. It was not one of Ian Rankins best books, but we can’t be prefect every time. Had breakfast, well lunch really. The went into D.C. National Geographic always has interesting exhibition that change from time to time. This time they had one called Fragile Realms, photographs by Mattias Klum from Guyana, South America. Walked round Dupont Circle bought a CD and had some wonderful Tomato and Basil soup at Cafe Luna. Mmmmm.
Now I am wondering what I am going to do with the rest of the night

Spelling police

Remember the email I got saying that I had a spelling error on my website. I got this today.

I don’t really need someone to point out the occassional typo in something
that isn’t my work. What I do need is for people to stop wasting my time. Mr
Misspelled Web please piss off.

Regards
Ben
….
Am I the only one who finds this hilarious? The man sends us an e-mail
bemoaning our spelling and lo and behold he can’t even spell himself.
Examples of poor spelling are:

certinally = certainly
occurred = occurred

So in closing, FUCK you, you twat…

The original email was sent to more than just me, so these replies were cc’d to everyone 🙂

Oops

Geek Stuff:
I just tested a little app on a windows 2K machine. The app is supposed to lock the mouse into one part of the screen so you can have the screen visible but users can’t use the computer until a password has been entered. In under 2 minutes I had defeated the little beast. I couldn’t move the mouse but I was able to get access to cmd prompt or for that matter any other window. Ooops I guess it is not very secure after all.

Cookies and stuff

Geek stuff:
I have been using a little app called cookie pal for a long time now. It makes me feel a little better if I know that people can’t track me through cookies. I have been using yahoo email more often in the last month or so, but I don’t like all the cookies that yahoo sets. If I block cookies from Yahoo I can’t get into my email. However I can ban yahoo cookies except the for the ones that expire in the current browser session, but i have to hit the sign in button twice….. Hmmmmmmm strange.

should I be pissed?

I just got this email,
This email is a notice from the internet spelling police that your page contains an inaccuracy. Specifically you misspelled the word “inaccurate.” If your site was built by a “professional” web designer, we suggest you seek damages because it certinally doesn’t look professional with misspellings in it. If you built the page yourself, we commend you on contributing to the world wide web and invite you to find a spell checker and add it to your list of things to do before publishing a new page. There are several freeware spell checkers (some even on the web) that will do this service for you. Since almost without exception this particular misspelling occurred in an effort to correct someone else’s mistake, we encourage you to first look inward for areas that can be improved before being critical of others’ work.

Who gave them the right to say my spelling is crap. I know it is, so bite me.
