iCal Calendar Servers

I tried building apples iCal server on a suse 9.1 box.
First had to install python 2.4
Then had to install sqlite 3.3.7
everything built but failed on a plistlib. I found a good copy of that at

https://svn.red-bean.com/bob/plistlib/trunk/plistlib.py

now I just get errors about xattr which is the Mac extended attributes on files.

I found this link so will keep an eye on it

treo 700p

I bought a new toy before I went to san francisco. I played with windows mobile 5 phones like the verizon vx6700 at constellation but I didn’t like it. I ended up buying a teo 700p.

I was a little upset when I first got it since it would would come back to life every so often. I ended up wiping the phone completely to find out what was going on. I then ran it for a couple days with out issue. I then in installed verizon wireless sync and it hung with in minutes. I was also having issues with hotsync not syning changes back to my mac. after removing wireless sync everything looks good. my battery life is also lasting more than a day. so the conclusion is that wireless sync is the root of all evil. I need to put versamail and an ssh client bacck on the phone to confirm that they were not the issue but I have a good feeling that it will work

I had a big grin on my face last night. I got up early to get the bart to the airport where I picked up a rental car. I drove out to yosemeti park which took about 3 hours. yosemeti is beautiful. I hiked up the mist trail to the vernal falls then on to the nevada falls. these are real water falls not like the great falls in MD/VA. I got close to the top and I was about ready to turn around because I was tired, but I met an indian guy who promised that I was only 5 mins from the top. it took me about two hours to hike 3.5 miles I went up about 2000 feet. I hiked down with a school party from fresno. I didn’t get back to San francisco till midnight which was to late to get the bart back. that’s why I have a big grin on my face
