NPS to upgrade C&O cannal
the washington post
This would be a great addition and would allow a safe trip onto the DC mall
Ok, I know I like Irn Bru, but don’t think I would ever touch these
Job Spam
I mentioned this in my LJ blog, but I am still getting job spam. This time it came from jobspromogroup.com/careers.aspx and had that same id number at the end that links all of these together. 5992383. They are looking for a Web developer. This still smells like a scam.
$2 bills end up getting a guy arrested
This is a sad story on so many fronts. First that the staff in a Baltimore Best Buy are not trained well enough to know what is legal tender. Second that Baltimore County PD feel the need to hand cuff someone and drag them off for something as trivial as paying with $2 dollar bills. If the guy had resisted arrest that would be one thing. I guess in this case the guy was guilty till proven innocent. Then to suggest that “we’re all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world” is kind of silly.
Getting my treo 700p to post to WordPress
As you can see from my posts I have got the basics of doing a photo post working. I have created a wiki page to track what I did. As I try new thing I will update the page.
Way to often I work on something, get it working, then 6 months later when I am upgrading part of it I get this nagging feeling that I had to do something special to get it all working, but for the life of me I can’t remember what I did. For the last few months I have been using a private wiki for recording quick notes on what I did and this is working really well so I extended it so I now have a public wiki that I can use for posting howtos or general notes once I have worked out the kinks. Since I don’t want to deal with comment spam the wiki is readonly.
Smartrip on fairfax county connector
Ever since I heard about being able to use the smartrip on the metro bus I have been patiently waiting for it on the Fairfax connector. No more hording change digging in drawers for enough coins to make up the dollar for the ride home. All I need to do is swipe the same smart card I use on the metro as I enter the bus. It even handles transfers so you don’t need to remember to pick that piece of paper as you rush for your train in the morning.
The only problem is my work is moving out to Dulles on the 15th of June and Loudon country commuter bus doesn’t do smart trip DOH.
Morning commute
The metro is running faster than 66 behind it
